Hannah
Webb is a designer maker of contemporary
textiles. Her work is inspired by
a passion for sustainable textiles
and ecological fabrics, as well
as a love of traditional Japanese
fabrics and imagery and the ancient
art of Shibori.
Hannah Graduated in 2006 with a
BA, First Class Honours, in Contemporary
Textile Practice from the University
of Wales Institute Cardiff, where
she specialised in Textile Design.
Hannah is continuing to research
her interest in Ecological textiles
as the focus of her current studies
in MA Textile Design at Winchester
School of Art.
“I feel the environment
is becoming an essential consideration
for textile designers, but few have
any knowledge of the damage caused
by the industry. For my final degree
show I produced a purely organic
range within my collection. I used
natural dyes and minimised waste
throughout my work to reduce environmental
harm, as well as attempting to use
natural and homogenous materials
to aid recycling.”
